How should I prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?
To help ensure the safest and most effective treatment, please follow these guidelines before your appointment:
- Avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure for at least 2–4 weeks before treatment. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen if you'll be outdoors.
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams, as the laser requires the hair follicle to be intact for optimal results.
- Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide, and other potentially irritating skincare products for 2–3 days before treatment.
- If you take blood-thinning medications or supplements, let your provider know before your appointment. Do not stop any prescribed medication unless instructed by your physician.
What should I expect after my laser hair removal treatment?
You may notice treated hairs shedding within 1–2 weeks — this is a normal part of the process. Keep the area protected from the sun, moisturized, and avoid waxing or tweezing between sessions. Shaving is safe and recommended if needed.
